The current VISALIA Watering Schedule is (Dec thru Feb):
- Addresses ending in ODD numbers, water on Saturdays
- Addresses ending in EVEN numbers, water on Sundays
Watering Times and Duration:
- Water before 8:00 am or after 6:00 pm on designated watering day. Two or more short cycles are recommended.
- Runoff is prohibited.
- Rain – Irrigation during and within 48 hours after measurable rainfall is prohibited. (Measurable rainfall is defined as 1/4 inch or more as measured at the Visalia Airport)
Exceptions to Watering Schedule:
- Car washing is only allowed with a hand-held bucket and/or a hand-held hose equipped with a shutoff nozzle. Runoff is prohibited.
- Hand watering of shrubs, trees or vegetables is allowed with a watering can or attended hose with shut-off nozzle. Does not apply to lawns.
- Drip irrigation allowed any day but must follow time restrictions. Drip irrigation means non-spray low-volume irrigation with no emitter greater than 4 gallons per hour.
- Supervised testing or repairing of irrigation system is allowed with official City of Visalia sign (available by clicking on Irrigation Test & Repair Yard Sign). Sign must be visible while area remains wet.
- A 21-day new plant establishment exception is allowed by permit. Does not apply to installation of new or replanted turf or annual plants unless the new or rehabilitated landscape project has been approved by the Community Development Department in accordance with the State Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance.
March thru November watering schedule is:
- Addresses ending in ODD numbers, water on Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays
- Addresses ending in EVEN numbers, water on Wednesdays, Fridays & Sundays
