Last month we shared some of the landscaping trends that are expected in 2021. In case you missed it ( http://rainscapeco.com/2021-landscaping-trends-part-1/). As we continue to move closer to spring and summer, we’re really starting to get excited about all the landscaping improvements we can start to make this time of year.
Here are a few more trending landscaping ideas expected in 2021:
- Front Porch Facelifts
With many of us still spending more time at home, and with the weather soon inviting more outdoor time our underutilized front porch can be used for more than just our plethora of deliveries. Front porches have always been part of the curb appeal and the first spot we safely welcome friends and family. This year we can make sure our front porch is “hang out” worthy by adding comfy seating, low maintenance shrubs or bushes, bright landscaping touches and some hanging baskets or potted plants for color.
- More Potted Plants Please
Potted plants are an easy way to improve your outdoor landscape as well as your indoor décor. Potted plants are easy to move around, don’t require a lot of weeding and their size is easily controlled. Another benefit? They are great for your health. Adding potted plants indoors reduces air toxins and prevents indoor dryness.
- Unique Outdoor Lighting
Lighting is generally used to improve visibility and making sure that your garden spaces and landscape is safe. It’s also used to enhance or spotlight textures and curves in your design. Minimalist lighting has been used in new and improved ways to illuminate paths, light up floating structures or trees, underneath patios or along a sidewalk. Where can you improve your lighting and personalize your space?
- “Me Time” Spaces
As much as we love our families, sometimes we just need a place to go and relax and sit quietly. With increased time at home due to the pandemic, many of us are yearning for a little secluded slice of heaven to just regroup. In 2021 there is an increased interest in converting a corner of your backyard into a secluded space. One option is a small Japanese-style garden with hedges for privacy. Or you could create your own little oasis with a simple water feature, and lush plants as a privacy screen. Paradise restored!
- Utilize a Landscaping Service *ahem Rainscape* to Create a Low-maintenance Landscape
Ok, so not all of us are naturally gifted when it comes to gardening. Who here has killed more succulents or other plants than they care to share? While we may wish the green thumb was genetic, it just isn’t always the case. Even if we do have the green thumb, we might just not have the time, money, desire, or space to create certain landscapes. This is where Rainscape comes in. We can help you with your landscaping needs. We offer a variety of services including artificial turf and are happy to get our hands dirty for you or help you with any questions or concerns you might have.
